I note from a published list that the USA has pledged the biggest amount of relief funds to aid the flood victims, the second biggest is that very little island that is in a real problem money wise, Great Britain.

Whilst I am all in favour of helping these people it should be done by an international body from an international fund that can take action immediately rather than having to wait to see who chucks money into the coffers, it was also noted that the richer countries with vast incomes from their oil were offering very paltry sums.

Perhaps if we all paid into a central World emergency fund an amount relative to the wealth of the country, we would be in a better position internally to handle our own problems.

Correct in every way, but I might add we should always be lucky to live where such floods do not occur, and always be ready to reach out to others, even in small ways.
