I would love to find out other people's opinion of private car leasing as an alternative to buying a car. Has anyone taken up this option? If so, is it good, bad or indifferent?

I think hubby and his partner did that when they were running the business.    I will ask him.

Hubby and his partner leased their cars for a few years when they had the partnership.   The lease lasted for 3 years at a time and at the end of that they got new cars.    The tax was paid and they thought it worked out well for them.   There was a limit to the mileage but it was a very generous limit.    The problem was that when they came to finish the business and wanted to buy their cars, the garage wanted far too much for them and wouldn't budge when they made offers.    They had to just let them go in the end as they couldn't afford what was being asked.

As a general comment hubby said it was a very good thing for a business to do.    He wasn't all that sure about people doing it privately though, but thinks it probably is quite good.    It seems to be when you want to finish the agreement that the problem arises.

Thank you Ari, very much indeed, it is for business in fact, so will talk to AAO about it all and see what his opinion is too.  Thanks again for your trouble, very kind of you. Gxxxxxxxxxxxxx
